Life Isn’t Good; It’s Splendid… I Got My First SSHRC Grant!

The first time was the charm. My first application as a Primary Investigator for a SSHRC Grant was successful, and I am, of course, ecstatic! This makes me one of the 22 emerging and established scholars at York University who received Insight Development Grants this year.

I am grateful to my co-applicant Dr. Ron Buliung of the University of Toronto. I am also grateful to the external reviewers for their great feedback that helped improve the proposal, and of course definitely to my wonderful colleagues at the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change Dr. Philip Kelly and Dr. Carlota McAllister, and our tireless Research Officer Rhoda Reyes.

The project’s title is Toward an understanding of intersectional factors affecting disabled persons’ travel via Uber and Lyft across urban and suburban contexts in the Greater Toronto Area.

Exciting research times ahead!
